Air- Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport the busiest airport in the World and is located approximately 12 miles from downtown Atlanta. Nearly 85 million visitors a year pass through thi airport.The city can be reached by a few different options.
Shuttle Services- Shared shuttles to metro-Atlanta destinations depart the airport approximately every 15 minutes. They depart from the Green bus aisle of the Ground Transportation Center, located between the North and South Terminals.The Atlanta Airport Shuttle also transports passengers to hotels all over the city in a nine-passenger shuttle. A one-way tickets costs between $16.50 and 20.50. You can find the shuttle desks at the baggage reclaim level of the airport. The shuttles run from 6am-midnight each day.
Taxis- are available at the
Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport at the Ground Transportation
Center. It should take 20-40 minutes to reach Downtown depending on
traffic. This fare should cost the fixed rate of $30-$40 depending on
destination.
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority rail line travels to/from the airport to downtown. The fair is $2.25 and more information can be found on www.itsmarta.com. The MARTA Red and Gold train lines link the
airport, downtown Atlanta and many other Atlanta-area locations. The
airport train service operates between from 5 am to 1 am weekdays and
from 6 am to 12am on weekends. The train departs every 15 minutes on
weekdays,and every 20 minutes on weekends. From the downtown Five
Points station you can connect to MARTA's Green and Blue train lines.
Journey time between the airport and downtown Atlanta is just under 20
minutes. The fare is $2 one way. The MARTA Airport Station at Atlanta
Hartsfield is located right at the terminal building. Follow the Ground
Transportation signs to MARTA.
AMTRAK- The AMTRAK train station
is located at 1688 Peachtree Street, NW. For more information visit

Bus-
Greyhound Flightlink buses serve Atlanta Hartsfield airport with many
city and inter-state locations. The Flightlink buses leave from the
lower level of the North Terminal. Take the escalator down from the
North Baggage Claim Area.
Car- there are three major highways serving Atlanta
airport. The I-285 runs east-west and is to the south of the airport,
the I-75 and I-85 run north-south with the I-75 to the east of the
airport and the I-85 to the west.
For downtown Atlanta take the I-85
north then the I-75.
Journey time to Downtown Atlanta is 20-40
minutes. Driving in Atlanta is not easy with traffic jams and it is
easy to loose your way. A road map is of the upmost importance if it is
your frist time driving in Atlanta.
